ACA Certification Opportunities
Not only does CCA offer extensive training for employees in all areas of the facility but for those who choose to continue to be challenged there's also ACA certification. CCA employees, from the frontline officer to the warden, have an opportunity to be certified as solid corrections professionals by the leading organization in our industry.
CCA employees can participate at one of four levels: executive, manager, supervisor and officer. Participants study through company-provided materials and then take a timed, proctored, 200-question exam. With a score of 75 or better, they earn a certification that remains in effect for three years. The exams are offered locally and at no cost to employees.
This program elevates a career in corrections to a professional level, based on standards recognized both in the industry and in the community. It also gives our professionals new tools to ‘sharpen the saw’ in their work and ongoing opportunities to develop.
Samberg Leadership Program
At CCA, we believe in promoting from within. And we prove it through our own time-honored traditions of training up-and-coming leaders to manage, mentor and make decisions The CCA Way.
That’s why we started our Samberg Leadership Program, which provides managers, directors, administrators, security supervisors and other high-potential employees with structured lessons in leadership, communication, delegation, decision-making and more.
Named after the late Mike Samberg, a former CCA warden and nationally respected leader in corrections, we take the strong ethics and solid guidance that he stood for and pass it down to the next generation of leaders in our field.
Foundations
Solid leadership starts with a solid foundation.
And our Foundations training for new and emerging CCA leaders enhances knowledge about the company, the important public service we provide, our government partners and other key issues in corrections.
Understanding who we are, where we come from and why our role is so critical is the basis of strong leadership. We also weave in lessons on business practices, staff management, workplace ethics, company policies and procedures and much more in this workshop-style learning experience that’s reserved for CCA’s proven, passionate and most professional employees on the path to management.
